Summer Festivals

Summer is the time for festivals in Japan, especially the mikoshi matsuri. A mikoshi is a small shrine that is carried around the neighborhood once a year... think of it as taking a Shinto god for a walk.

Sumida Suizokukan (Aquarium)

At the base of Tokyo Skytree there is a small aquarium. This one doesn't have so many large animals, but they do have a jellyfish breeding program.
